Chosen for further distribution
A common topic for Medium writers is curation (now known as “chosen for further distribution”. Let’s take a look at Medium’s discussion of curation.
What does it mean to be curated? When a story is curated, it becomes eligible to be distributed to readers across Medium surfaces — on the homepage, on topic pages, in our app, in our Daily Digest newsletter, and in other emails — and shared via Medium’s recommendation system. — Medium Curation Guidlines
Curation means more eyes on your work. And more visitors to our publication. Curation benefits everyone. For more information, you can see what Medium looks for when they review your articles here.
For an easy-to-understand breakdown of curation rules, check out the following article:
Note: Many writers like to promote other pieces in their stories. Medium states that you will not get curated if you add a friend link in your article. Feel free to share your friend link across social media or in emails, but don’t include them in your stories if you’re hoping to get curated.
