Struggling to Think of Content? Do This Instead

How to never run out of content again

Our brains can only come up with so many ideas, there are going to be times when you just can’t seem to find the creative mindset for thinking of new content to write about. Some people would call it writer’s block.

It’s strange, sometimes I can come up with three or four amazing ideas for content, and then the next day, my mind would just be empty. Before you do any content research it’s important to diversify your content, especially when just starting out. If you found your niche that’s amazing but try surprising some people and create something that you enjoy in a different niche once or twice.

This doesn’t have to go with Medium only. By expanding your content and sharing your knowledge to other social media platforms, you’ll have more of an audience. If you make just one story on Medium, you’re a content creator.

What is a content creator?

A content creator can be a hard job. They have to constantly entertain, educate, and give valuable information to the audience.

The average pay for a content creator is about $45,000 a year. Content creators have an important job and the longer they go on for the more money they will make by doing extra marketing strategies like affiliate marketing or social media marketing.

Let’s find out some ways to never run out of content again…

Google Trends

Hundreds of thousands of people are searching on Google every hour and the average person searches on Google at least 4 or 5 times a day.

If you want to find out what’s been recently trending on Google you’re in luck. Google Trends is perfect for content creators in need of finding out what to make next.

When you’re in Google trends, find a topic to search about and type it on the search bar. Here’s an example of a topic I was interested in knowing more about:

Once you filter the search history by interval and location and you’ll see if the topic you want to write about has been trending up as of late. If the interest over time has been increasing then it’s the perfect time to write about it but if it’s been decreasing it’s best to avoid the topic. With Trends, you can also compare the popularity of content ideas to see which one is the best.

I highly recommend every content creator use Google Trends.

AnswerThePublic

This website should be all that you need for discovering new content and topic ideas to write about. Take a look at all the content ideas I got when just typing in ‘youtube’.

AnswerThePublic is my favorite way of finding new content to create and I’ve been using it since the start. It lets you search up to 3 terms but you’re going to have to pay $99 a month for the pro version and unlimited services so be careful about what term you search since you are limited.

Make sure that you are searching for a generic term and not a long-tail or highly specific term.

Takeaway

Using these websites, you’ll literally never run out of content to post.
