Strong On The Outside, A Volcano Erupting On The Inside
Mental Health Awareness Oct 4 -10

October 4 to 10 is Mental Health Awareness Week.
Kate Spade gave us Fashion and Style. Robin Williams made us Laugh for decades. Anthony Bourdain takes us to Exotic Places and entices us with Delicious Exotic Foods. We rely on their strength and ability to give us something special, and they did. Every chance they got. We saw their smiles and happiness, not their pain. To us, they were normal people who had it all. We only saw their STRENGTH!
We couldn’t see their weakness or pain. Today, I am asking everyone who reads this to reach out and TAG and THANK the people whose strength you relied on that never fails you. The strong person whose back you climb on to get where you are. The one who stayed up with you all night when you were sick. The only one who believed you were innocent. The one who wipes away your tears. The one who put the dressing on your wound. The one you can count on EVERY TIME you need STRENGTH.
The one who loan you the outfit, so you can go to the interview, that landed you your dream job. The one who took the blame for you. The shoulder you cry on and lean on, more than once. The one who lifts you when you are down. The one who bails you out of trouble every time. The one who brings out the best in you.
The one who made you laugh whenever you are sad. The one who never says no. The one who never forgets your birthday. The one who is always there, no matter what. All of us have that one person who is always there, never judge or criticize, they just UNDERSTAND. Rich, successful, and strong doesn’t mean all is well.
Let us RE-ENFORCE the outside source of our strength, and do it once per week. If they are not alive, put flowers at their grave, or if you can, reach out to their kids. Set LIMITS in all you do. Sometimes, the STRONG needs to be re-enforced too, because, at some point, you will get back, from them, the strength you gave them.
But also remember the ones who are weak and need our help, especially now in this pandemic when depression and anxiety are flying pass COVID 19 infection rate. Just like COVID 19, Depressions and Anxiety doesn’t discriminate. We need each other now more than ever. We need each other to survive.
This is a repeat.
