Stop Worrying About What Society Thinks

Because society changes its opinion every 10 years, at most, every 20 years.

What was ‘cool’ before, ends up being ‘lame’ in 10 years.

‘The best jobs’ of today are ‘meh jobs’ of 10 years later.

Society’s opinions, its feelings, its standards, its desires change every 10 years, at most every 20 years.

Avoid planning your future on what society thinks & feels today, so you won't find yourself at an unhappy place 10 years later.

Instead, know yourself first, and plan your future and the path that you will follow in life based on your own internal drive and the fire that burns inside. Feed the fire instead of extinguishing it. Walk your path instead of straying from it.

Your family, friends, relatives, colleagues, and the rest of the society — work your way around them when needed, work with them when needed. Avoid bending to society’s will and shaping your life according to its whims, but also navigate society smoothly while walking your own path. Make friends and allies, and work with them instead of paying heed to obstructionists, naysayers, pessimists, and losing time with them. Be compassionate and close with those who are around you without compromising yourself.

Raise the rebellion flag when necessary, but mostly navigate the sea of society smoothly while still sailing in your own direction instead of burning bridges. Take detours if needed, but never deviate from your path.

This is your life.

You will see it from the start to the end.

Live it your own way, walking towards where you want to go, doing everything needed to make the most of every second.
