Stop the Presses We Have Amazing News — I’m One of Medium’s New Boost Curators
This is your opportunity to have your MW stories curated by Medium

Medium is always trying new things to seek out ways in which writers can widen their reach and actually get paid for their efforts, and earlier this year a new project was launched, the new Boost system.
You can read all about it in the article I’ve linked below by Medium CEO Tony Stubblebine, but the gist of it is, Medium has selected a small number of publication editors who will act as curators. They will be tasked with finding the best articles from their own publications and the wider Medium platform that fits their personal area of expertise (mine is all things woman). Once they have these hidden treasures in hand, each curator will nominate the cream of the crop for boosting.
Having your work boosted means it will be seen by between 500 and thousands more Medium readers. This in turn means more exposure for you and your writing, but also a better chance of earning the money you deserve for your time and talent.
To read more about the boost program check out the article below…
I’ve spent years sitting in and facilitating circles for women and the one thing I have learnt above all else, is that in sharing our stories we elevate ourselves and help others. Women’s stories are central to rediscovering the sense of physical community we have long lost. We hear ourselves in other people’s words and realise that we are not alone. Words are put to emotions, and some of the load we carry is lessened. We make each other laugh, cry, and punch the air in solidarity.
We have the ability to teach each other and make connections that stay with the reader long after the last words are read.
Forgive me for being a little idealistic, but I’m a writer who still believes our words can change lives.
And that is what I am looking for as I read through the submissions to Modern Women and articles written by women across the Medium platform. I applied to be one of the lucky new curators because I want to raise women’s voices and widen our audiences, and I am so excited to be a part of this new program. A few of you may have already noticed that extra special ‘boosted’ symbol on the stats for your stories, and as I keep nominating I know that will happen for more and more of you.
So, what do you need to do?
Firstly, make sure your articles meet the Medium standards for distribution…
Secondly, write about what you are passionate about, what you have a unique perspective of due to your own personal life experience. Yes, we all have stories to tell but don’t forget why you want to share your story. Is it just to get something off your chest, or can you help others in some way? Your work doesn’t have to be on an entirely new topic or gimmicky to make an impact, but it does have to represent you. After all, no one else (especially A.I) can replicate your voice and the rest of us deserve to hear it.
What am I looking for?
Well honestly, I’m searching for exactly what the writers of Modern Women already bring to the table.
Stories about your own personal experience.
Articles that look at things in new ways and challenge the reader to think deeply about their own opinions and beliefs.
Stories that remind us that we are not alone in our experience of womanhood.
Articles that break from the norm and show that there are many ways to show up as a woman, and all of them are valid.
I’m looking for stories that I think about long after the final word has been read.
Feel ready to put pen to paper? Great, have a read through of our submission guidelines so we can get your work published as quickly as possible, and if you need a little help to get the inspiration flowing, check out our most recent prompts.
I can’t wait to read your work!
