Stop Telling Me to Follow Your Rules!

I. will. not.

No I will not follow the rules Where did they come from? who wrote them? did I promise to follow those?

Please do not put me and the other free souls in the cage of your self made rules unless you want me gone.

Do you think if everybody followed these structured and worldly boundaries would the art have thrived? Poetry written? And the beauty appreciated?

In case you can’t picture that because your mind can’t comprehend and your imagination is tainted let me do it for you; there won’t be any humanity left: only robots.

So today I tell you this loud and clear I acknowledge our differences and accept you and your rules only if you apply those to yourself and let me be me.

The right side of the brain controls some of us, but the left manages others.

Hence, some are scientists and mathematicians, while others are poets and painters.

Some are good at writing X habits of successful people or How to make money on Medium in X days, and others love writing Haiku or Ode or just Loose Words!

Some find comfort in routine and following self-made rules, but few go with the flow.

World is a beautiful place because of these differences. And we need both types for life to thrive.

We all can coexist. Only if we respect each other.

But if you try to force your rules on me. I will fight. Until my last breath.

Your dragons and monsters may burn my body but my soul will stand tall and undefeatable.

Consumed by love, Salam seeks Nature’s help to transform emotions into words that touch souls. He writes about Love, Pain, and Rebellion, among other things.
