Stop Sharing Content Randomly on Various Platforms
This process won’t get you the views you are looking for in 2020

We have all been doing this — sharing our created content blindly without a plan in place. It’s true that we all love writing. But for most of us, marketing our content is equally necessary to have engagement. This is especially important for newbie writers like me, who is yet to make a name for himself.
With each passing minute, thousands of creators are creating millions of content. If we want ourselves to make a place in this rapid-fire market, we need to have a proper plan in place or a system that we can follow to get the attention we think we deserve.
Let’s start with none other than Twitter. Well, there are not many things you can do with this platform. But that doesn’t mean do nothing.
Well, definitely share, but don’t forget to add at least 2–3 hashtags. It is said that the average lifespan of a tweet is 17 minutes. So, remember to retweet the same thing in a couple of days. There are high chances you will get new people engaging with it.
Also, if you like some other writers’ contents, don’t forget to share them. They will appreciate your effort and may follow you back or even share one of your contents in return.
Remember, social media platforms want you to be social. So, be a little.
This is an incredible platform that many of us are not using properly. If done well, Pinterest alone can give you a lot of viewers. If you are new to Pinterest, I have shared an article that extensible explains how you can make use of the platform.
Don’t just create a Pin and leave the site. It won’t be worth the effort then. Follow other bloggers on the platform. Engage with their content. Create boards and also remember to join group boards. Over time you will start to see the results.
Also, something that I noticed is that once you have 2.5k followers, Pinterest starts promoting your Pins. Although this is not a hard and fast rule. It’s something that has happened to me.
I would recommend you open the article on Pinterest I’ve attached and just go through the points. It will give you much clarity.
Well, I won't lie, building an engaging community on Facebook will take much time and effort. It’s tough if you don’t already have an engaging group. But it’s possible. If you are already spending time on Facebook you can do a few extra things.
Join the Medium groups that are active and engaging. How do you find if the group is good enough to join? Check for the posts. Is the group generating multiple posts each day? If yes, then the group is active. But that’s not it. You need to check a few posts. Are other group members liking/commenting? If you don’t find that happening, the group is of no use. People just randomly share and don’t check other people’s contents. So, be sure, you will hardly get any new viewers.
You can also ask your friends to check your article out. In case you are a regular writer then that won’t help.
Create a group or a page. Start posting the nicely edited pictures that you used for creating Pins on Pinterest. Remember to add the URL.
There are serious professionals on this platform. You should be serious too. Write a short post related to the article you are sharing. Add a few tags and remember to have relevant connections. If you are writing about films and everyone in your connection is interested in tech, you won’t be getting any traffic.
Linkedin will get you traffic slowly when your connections understand that you are someone who writes about something and you are good at it. Have a little patience.
These are the few platforms that I personally use. There are others who even market themselves on Instagram and Tumblr.
I will be creating an in-depth analysis of each platform. Stay tuned. :)
