Starting Point: Poverty or Wealth?
Shock paralyzed her after her memory identified the female while dragging her back to a past world in which she had more control.
Feeling herself slipping as her life slopes down a cliff, Eden journeyed back into her past. The only option available to her was to use her dormant business management degree to gain employment. Arriving at Dunlop Industries ten minutes before her 11:45 AM interview, in distress. Her anxiety heightens after a well-dressed female entered the room. Shock paralyzed her after her memory identified the female while dragging her back to a past world in which she had more control.
The female glanced around, then spoke to one of four recruiters sitting behind a long wooden table, four laptops in front of them. A few seconds later, she exited through the door she entered.
Wrestling with her instincts and anger, one coercing her to stay, the other suggested she leave. Before she could decide, a voice called out, “Eden Wallace.”
Unconsciously she flew up, pushing anger and her instincts aside as something pulled her forcefully towards the voice.
The same recruiter got up, move towards the door behind her saying, “This way, Miss Wallace.”
She followed her into a long hallway, doors with names and job titles written on them in bold black letters. Telling who was who.
Eden’s heart dropped to her feet when the recruiter stopped at the door that reads, ‘Jeanet Bennet C.F.O’ and knocked.
A familiar voice calls out, “Come in Miss Phillips.”
Inside the office, they stared at each other, and silence started a battle with guilt, regret, hatred, and fear, as more than twenty-five years of the past entered the arena wearing danger red boxing gloves.
Envy snatched control of Eden, after she yanked her heart up from her feet, throwing the first punch as the recruiter exits, not giving Jeanet time to prepare.
“How? How can your life be better than mine? Your mother was our maid!”
