Staring At The Wall Meditation
A poem on parenting the ego to do the work
yes, you just have to stare at the wall you cannot ask for a simpler meditation every day you make time to stare at the wall you track your progress if you stared at nothing but the wall for the entire meditation time you — your ego-self — had done the job but unfortunately, your job does not end there ego-self is like a spoiled brat it does not allow you to do your work it is greedy for attention it wants to be the winner it wants to be assured its progressing it wants a sense of improvement it wants a sense of clean achievement and that’s why you give your spoiled brat (ego-self) the challenge of staring at the wall you even call it “Staring at wall” meditation so that it feels great but that’s all to it you give the child a toffee to get engaged in while you do the work (inner work) letting your problems and concerns arise and allow it to be worked on without demanding help from that infant (ego-self) because it spoils the whole purpose so let it be focused on the great phony task the task of staring at the wall so you can sit and f***ing heal while the infant is busy with a task that suits it stop expecting the infant to do the real work parent the infant wisely and do the work having got a fake sense of achievement from managing to stare at the wall the infant ego-self would be happy to show-up again so you can continue with your work also, make sure that your ego does not get so serious with the task that it dissolves into the wall it is staring at and finally dissolving into universal consciousness and all that crazy stuff not that you have a choice enter at your own peril — lol
