Spread Gratitude, It’s Catching

Living In The Moment

Photo by Rosie Kerr on Unsplash

The past weekend was Thanksgiving in the United States. I wasn’t celebrating as I live in Canada and we’ve already had our Thanksgiving.

Expressing gratitude and taking time to write in a gratitude journal is a practice I return to again and again. I find it fulfilling and a great reminder of what is positive in my life.

I was inspired by another writer to share what I’m thankful for this November. He shared his November thankfulness ritual in an article and it’s a lovely idea.

Thanks, Alfonso Guerrero

I am happy to share my gratitude list for 2020 here with all of you.

In 2020 I’m Thankful for:

  • My husband, there is no one else I would rather be quarantined with. It’s like the version of who do you want to be stranded on a deserted island with — definitely my husband.
  • My mother, for her resilience in the face of so much negativity and her bravery in coping with her illness.
  • Family, I love you all and can’t imagine a world without your quirky jokes and so much love.
  • My health, heart surgery this year was successful and I’m thrilled to have received a new lease on life.
  • Canada, a country with so much to offer, so much allowance and acceptance. Yes, I know we have our faults but recognizing that we have to do better is exactly why we are so great.
  • The travel that I have already done. Even if I am never able to travel to new cultures and experience different countries again, I’m grateful for the experiences that I have already had.

What is your gratitude practice?

Thanks to Trista Ainsworth for always reminding me to lead with my heart.
