Thrifty Words 100 Challenge #8: Storms
She could feel it. Deep inside. Starting in the base of her stomach. It was always the same: grey-black clouds gathering deep inside her. Sparking tension traveling along her limbs to her core. Lips tingling. Air crackling.
It was the words with bitter intention that set her off. Thrown about, willy-nilly. Vicious, vacuous. But with the intent to belittle.
Right inside the word-spitter, she saw the small child. Frightened. Small. In pain. The large outer shell, venom-spitter, a protective layer. A cloak of invisibility. But not for her.
Her mouth opened. The storm raged. Lightning, thunder. Power and electricity. Rage.
