Dissolve In The Flow
An Idea Stream Poetry Mega-Salvage
She stood on the edge, looked out, and down, Twinkling, stringed lights, the vast golden town. A dream, magnificent, with puppies and kittens, Where the person of her dreams is totally smitten, Where the red, white, and the blue aren’t a nationalistic joke, Where all Homo Sapiens throw off the yoke, Of emergencies, bio-hazard, feckless politicians, Those maniacs, morons, who make no admissions, Who are too far gone, camouflaged by their fear All the rest want to do is give them a kick in the rear! If they walk maskless, frolicking through skies of blue, Surely the virus knows what to do? Infect those hacking, lying snobs, Who think they’re the only ones who can do the job.
She stood on the edge, looked down, and out. Should she write a clever limerick all about The licking of lips and the general humping, Of a populous who are close to jumping Off the edge of the precipice, into the dark, Surely, then, she’d have made her mark. But no, she decided, stop the hacking and chopping, No knobbly old trees she would be lopping, She’ll write, instead, of mullets so ugly Of hairstyles of old that were just bloody fugly! She’ll write of the taste of freedom and joy, Of the right kind of beer, a stout, to enjoy. Those bloody old maniacs running the show, Can just fuck off, get nicked, dissolve in the flow.
