Sometimes You Just Need a Party
How to Bring in an Abundance of Fun

Celebrate your life; you are your own light — Lailah Gifty Akita
Last night as I walked around tidying up the house for the evening, I realized I wanted a party. Sometimes things dawn on you. We are coming up on nearly a year of mostly staying at home.
We need to celebrate how much we have been through, just the three of us. It is not like a regular party where we invite guests, but we deserve this celebration.
It was fun to begin to look up festive recipes, think about snacks and decide what to put in the punch bowl.
At our little party this weekend, we will toast to our health, abundance, and life.
I love how much my dear husband and son latched on to this idea. Yes, there are holidays coming up like Valentine’s Day. However, we all felt the need for a party right now.
Today I want to acknowledge how much we have overcome.
Let us raise a glass to ourselves for our resiliency and strength. On my 100-day journey exploring abundance, today let us celebrate an overflow of strength and courage.
Here is a list of things you have all done in the past ten months. Here is to all of us!
Remained Healthy
By social distancing, staying away from gatherings, and wearing masks, we have all remained healthier than ever before. I do not remember a year where I have felt healthier or had such good energy to move forward most days.
These months have not been without their challenges, but I am so grateful for our good health. We have all learned to walk more and enjoy the outdoors much more than in years past. I believe that also contributes to our stellar health and wellbeing.
Used Your Creativity
We have all gotten very creative these past few months. Some of us have worked to hone our writing skills like me. A dear friend of mine has started to work on projects at home like board game design.
Not only have we been creative with using our talents and skills, but we are also creative with how we keep our spirits up. We have gotten more into taking care of plants, cooking more dishes from scratch, and trying our hand at more creative pursuits.
Learned to be More Present
When all we have before us is an empty calendar and lots of time, we have learned to be in the present moment. We value what is right in front of us much more than we used to.
Nature has become my teacher. On my daily walks in our back garden, I learned to pay attention to all of my senses. When we are more aware of what is around us, we can find joy in the now.
Dealt with Inner Conflict
All of us have confronted one inner conflict or another during this time. With all of the time spread out before us, it was the perfect opportunity to go within.
We learned to love ourselves for all that we are. We learned to let go of what others think of us and our need for validation from others. We know we are good enough just as we are.
Maintained a Positive Outlook
Even on dark, dreary days of boredom in our homes, we found ways to brighten our days. We learned that sitting with our emotions was important. When we allowed the sadness, frustration, or anger to flow through us, we knew we would make it to the other side.
Our positive attitudes allowed us to keep flowing with our days. It is a skill that will come in handy for the rest of our lives. Shining our light and being a beacon for others has beautiful rewards.
We have persevered my friends!
It is time to celebrate and keep marching forward, always stepping into the light!
My prayer and my intention for you is to celebrate your accomplishments and wins. Throw yourself a little party. You deserve it for all that you have been through these past few months.
