Something To See
Poetry
It was just something to see, That affected my little house.
In patchy, ghost-like warnings, A force that struck me down.
In that smiling open face, That golden shining world.
I knew we must die on a battlefield, Staying on one side of love.
Somehow you were only kind, Like a giant that held a wall.
So it seems I never recovered, from every secret we had before.
And now I still stare back to see, None of that was meant for me.
But I’m good at pretending, A perfect ending, Settles in eternity.
Your words never could survive, Over stonework, sands and tides.
And my professional desperation slept, at the end of your tragic life. You were part of a song that still replays, A blazing fire in the endless rain.
You cannot be mentioned, I cannot be saved, We were not that brave.
If only there was a glowing light, Some hope I could follow in a cold dark night.
With my foolish timeless tears, And my words you can never hear.
Now there’s no kind message or soul relief, Let me drift away upon the water’s grief.
Laying down Way down in the river
Staring up at the sky, Wishing you were alive.
It was something to see.
