So Surprised!! Medium Said I Couldn’t Comment Anymore!!

I thought it was strange and decided to investigate.

I looked for help in Medium’s FAQs but didn’t find information.

As usual.

If you want the opinion of a rather old grandma, these FAQs are hard to find and even harder to understand. I usually have better luck asking other Medium writers about my problems.

So that’s what I did. I searched for writers who had experienced a similar — and may I add dramatic — event.

Not being able to comment (or, worse, reply to comments) on Medium is a horrible experience.

I was lucky to find James Bellerjeau. Blocked from commenting, he had — cleverly — asked Medium about it. I hadn’t thought about it!! So simple and obvious in hindsight.

As it turned out, there’s a limit of 100 comments per 24-hour period. I’m grateful Medium is taking care of our mental health.

It’s not possible to doom-scroll and comment forever.

There are limits.
