Small Changes with a Huge Impact on Daily lives
poetry prompt: strange pandemic/ physical distancing stories

Moving to a new neighbourhood and living alone in an apartment was challenging. Friendliness of everyone in the building made the transition very easy. Claustrophobic bouts in the elevator were controllable with others in the carriage. Now, it’s a nerve-wracking prospect because non-family members are not allowed in the elevators.
Laundry rooms were always crowded, and waiting times used to pass quickly through small talk. Laundry room chit-chat is a thing of the past now; everyone is just moving away quickly. Chance encounters in the parking lot used to lead to interesting fund-raising opportunities for the community. Now there are only mumbled hellos through the masks and fast goodbyes.

Thank you so much, Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) for tagging me today and made me put in words small yet transformative changes in my daily life even if I have just step outside the apartment for a grocery trip or doing laundry. Have a great weekend, everyone. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
