Sleepless Nights — Staying Up With The Moon

Full Moon Changes

The Moon — photo by Gabriella 8/2/23 2:32 am

The night before the full moon and the night of the full moon were sleepless nights for me. I found out later that many people had difficulty sleeping. Since I was up I decided to take pictures of the moon. The time of these pictures was a few hours before the full moon and the moments as the moon become the fullest.

The images below were taken seconds apart at 1:19 am in the morning. I love the array of colors that show up around the moon like a halo and the way the light rays show up around the moon.

The meaning of the full moon represents change, a new cycle begins. Some people are more sensitive to this change than others. I think that the moon is beautiful and I am grateful that this night the sky was clear and I could capture its beauty.

Moving the focus a little farther the image looks very different just one minute later.

I am curious to know how do you react to the changes and the cycles of the Moon?

I like the series above the way it is arranged it looks like the moon is moving closer. I think from the images the moon already looks like a full moon and it is interesting to know that the actual cycle of the full moon will begin 2 hours and 11 minutes later at 2:31 am.

The images below were taken just as the new Moon cycle begins.

Even though the images were taken from the same spot just a few hours later the moon has changed. The halo around the moon is different and the rays around the moon were different as well.

After taking these photographs and spending some time out under the night sky just being in the moment and watching the moon these words come to me:

Moon

Moon, you are so beautiful and ever so bright.

Lighting up the sky every night.

Showing your way to the ever-lasting stars.

The moon is very inspiring to me. I love taking pictures of the moon and also just watching the moon. A previous inspiration for the moon was a poem I wrote titled Women Moon Power.
