Six Tips to Create More Connections

Do these things to meet more people which leads to more opportunities and new ways of thinking

According to the National Institute on Aging the health risks of prolonged isolation is equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day!

Here is a link to the article talking about the study’s more in-depth:

More than anything else, loneliness and lack of connection with other human beings is one of the unhealthiest things you can do for yourself.

We live in a time where it’s easy to be alone because of all the distractions we can easily reach for and participate in without having to go out and interact with others.

It has never been like this and this is a very new thing that humanity is facing with all the new technological advancements that our consciousness is not keeping up with.

So what are things you can do to not only help yourself but help others connect?

Let’s get into the 6 simple tips that each person can do to spread happiness by simply connecting to other human beings.

1. Become genuinely interested in people

Get rid of any arrogance that you have thinking you are better than others because this creates conflict inside your conscious minimizing the ability to truly connect to others.

Realize every soul walking the earth has a unique perspective based on their life experience.

Every person is different just like each snowflake that floats down from the sky is different.

Never judge a book by its cover because a short conversation with someone like a homeless person can give you new insights and wisdom to take with you on the journey of life.

Ask questions about people’s interests and hobbies, because people LOVE to talk about themselves.

And again, you never know what could come out of a simple conversation. It could shift your whole mindset and put you on a path that changes the trajectory of your life for the better.

2. Smile

This is very simple and attracts people to your aura, making your energy more inviting.

Just smile! If you have a mindset like “I don’t have anything to smile about” focus on gratitude as it will raise your vibrations and give you more to be thankful for.

Here is an article I wrote giving steps on how to focus your mind on gratitude:

All in all positive energy attracts people which can lead to more connections and opportunities in life.

So just smile!

3. Remember Names

I cannot lie this is the thing I struggle with the most.

However, remembering names makes people feel special and cherished.

If you struggle with names like I do, I suggest when you first meet somebody and are having a conversation with them for the first time use their name repeatedly in the conversation.

Here are a few examples,

“So John, what do you do for a living?”

“That’s very interesting John, thank you for sharing.”

“I do the same thing John!”

The point is to repeat their name so you remember and store it inside your subconscious so when you see their face again, the name automatically pops up in your conscious awareness.

4. Be a good listener

Encourage people to talk about themselves because like I said in the first tip, people LOVE to talk about themselves.

So be a good listener and ask in-depth details about their interest and passions

I’ve done this many times and I automatically gain rapport with people because I showed I was truly interested in what they were saying by giving them my full conscious attention and asking good questions.

The funny thing is I didn’t even have to talk much. I just let them talk about what they like and extract information that I find helpful for my life based on their life experiences.

5. Talk in terms of other people’s interest

Once you identify what other people are passionate about and interested in the conversation will flow smoothly because you will know how to spark the other person’s interest.

The fun thing is when you find others with the same interest you create a really deep level of rapport between both people.

However, it is important to be adaptable, knowing how to be flexible in conversation and making others feel special is key.

By talking about their interest and truly being interested in what they are saying trying to extract any information that can be valuable in your life.

6. Make others feel important

Make others feel important by truly considering their point of view.

Step into others’ shoes to discover where they are coming from, their opinions, and their vision.

This gives you the ability to connect with others on a deep level by understanding where they are at in their life.

When you understand where they are in life you can be more empathic and genuinely care about others and create a space for them to share their thoughts and interests which makes them feel heard, connected, and important.

Conclusion and Actionable Steps

You must be the one that initiates conversations and connections.

You cannot wait for something to come to you because if you do you may be waiting your whole life.

Be the initiator. Step into your power and realize that everybody is very similar and is looking for something fun to do with others they like.

Just be you. Never hold back because what is meant to be will be.

And being you is the best way to light up this world. The more people that are simply just being themselves, the more authentic this world will be.

I encourage you to make a goal to initiate 5 conversations a day even if they are small.

And if someone doesn’t want to talk they will let you know, then you just don’t talk. It’s important to not take anything personally as that person is not directing it towards you.

You can even go a step further by just doing things you like yourself that you would do without anyone else like working out or going for a hike.

When the opportunity presents itself be the initiator and invite other people out to do the thing you would already do yourself.

Be the party. Be the person that creates the fun things to do.

If you do this you will attract more people into your gravitational field, making more connections, and unlocking opportunities life will throw at you through others because you are taking the initiative to put yourself out there.

So practice and master communication skills because you will need them to be a happy, healthy, and optimized human being.
