VSS365 | HAIKU | POETRY | AUTUMN | FALL
Six Haiku About Autumn

Inspired by this haiku of Martin Morrison about autumn -or fall for some- I write a few haiku about this season as well. Just like he did I retain the traditional 5/7/5 syllable scheme.

Summer is over the spring of death has arrived with her fiery leaves

Queen Persephone is back in the Underworld her mom is weeping

The rain kept falling it smelled of rot and moisture it was beautiful

It was soaking wet they looked like spilled tea leaves and smelled very ripe

Leaves of every kind with a feast of all colors floated in that lake

It was so quiet as if the forest was sleeping tired from summer’s heat
