Silence Can Sometimes Be — The Most Eloquent Reply:

Silence is considered as the meaningful thing because when a person has not something effective or good to say then he/she should remain Silent — Because talking irrelevance could lead to backbiting, False claims, hypocrisy, and other sins.

However, talking meaningful is highly encouraged in Islam because when we talk something meaningful — we are somehow teaching knowledge to others and spreading the good words.

Contrary to our habit of talking about everything — Silence lets us reflect, process our thoughts and emotions, and really connect with others. And by learning to appreciate Silence, we can become more aware of when to speak and when to listen.

By choosing our words purposefully instead of just Filling the air with noise — we can use our words more intentionally and mindfully.

Abu Hurairah narrated that Prophet Muhammad (saw) said:

“Whoever believes in God and the Last Day should speak a good word or remain Silent”. (Al-Bukhari)

As reported by Ibn Umar, the Prophet (saw) said: “Don’t you talk much unless For zikr to Allah, because much-talking leads to indomitable heart and the Furthest human From Allah is the one with indomitable heart, those who unwilling to receive guidance.” (Tirmidi)

Some people consider Silence as the Victory of the one who is speaking — In reality, a Silent person is actually a thousand times more powerful than a person who answers — For this person can say things in the heat of the moment that they will later regret.

Once a wise person said that if you answer to every barking dog, you will never reach your destination — There is no doubt about it. Most people around us generally talk and gossip about others’ problems.

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, (saw) said, “Verily, Allah despises an extravagant speaker among men, who flaps his tongue about like the Flapping of a cow.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2853)

Humans are considered by Allah (swt) as the top creatures than any other creature in the universe — Humans are given this rank due to the Language and Thinking. Humans can speak and think and this is why there is no other creature who is above humans on ranking.

As Humans are Blessed with this unique characteristic that they can speak and they can think; therefore — they should use this power in a good way according to law of Allah (swt) rather misusing these powers. When they think,act and implement laws according to Allah who is the creator & controller of everything then — they can change the world and bring Justice and Peace in the world by using these powers in a right way.

As Allah says in Quran:“O believers! Be mindful of Allah, and say what is right. He will bless your deeds For you, and Forgive your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, has truly achieved a great triumph” (33:70-71).

Therefore — we should try to be positive and we should think all the time that we could die anytime and so we should be kind every time because we never know the day of our death. And after death we will not get a chance to Fix the mistakes we have committed in this world.

But we can surely Fix the mistakes in this world by turning ourselves towards kindness and meaningful speech or to stay silent rather speaking useless — This is the way Muslims live that they cannot think or they do not say anything bad about others. When they speak, they speak well.

So,the point is — when we Believe in Allah (swt) and put our Trust in Allah, we will avoid suspicion. In this way we will not have negative thoughts For others. Islam teaches us that when we come across an ignorant person, instead of messing with him, we should ignore him silently.

May Allah (swt) make us to speak the Truth and be Firm on it. (Ameen).
