Sick of Being Sick

A work of fiction…

Clara woke up in a delusional state. She was a complete wreck. But she had a deadline to meet and she’d never missed one, no matter what condition she was in.

Wrapped up in her favorite Afghan, she threw on her slippers and dragged herself over to her laptop. She was going to need every tool in her mental toolbox for this one.

Through the coughing, sneezing and wheezing, she typed. She typed until she could no longer see the words on the screen clearly. She hit send, and fell into a deep sleep, right there at the kitchen table.

This 37th drabble is written as part of the “100 Story Challenge” by @Zane Dickens.

This experiment was originally done by Grim Flandango. The word today is TOOLBOX.
