Shrouded Clouds Be Not The Sun
An appeal to one who once I loved

The years rush past your fingertips Though to your frightened mind they hold And lag behind storm clouds approach Though skies are blue and gifts abound To float before you sightless eyes
Deceptions host, distortions guest To fabricate a myth for all And act upon with lies that fight Construct confusions bastion
But after struggle to uphold Connections to a self within The shadow self you show without Those once the name of true friend held Turn from a kind eye view who you Have pushed to break with lion’s lies
Deceitful muse so obvious Betrayal clear explosion flares Yet expertly you dodge all harm And painful truth against your walls Ignored and rendered neutralized Protect, forget love’s memories
Your life becomes the effort to Distract, avoid, impress upon To always move one to the next Lest anyone learn who you are Identity always in flux
Throw from your mind and heart disguise So long assumed your soul now dark And let what happens realize If care not you to love, be loved You’ll never truly live a life Existence naught but only that The poorest choice of substitutes
