Showing Kimberly My Hometown
Kimberly is new in town and I decide to be her tour guide.

She walked into the room and my heart started pounding rapidly in my chest. I looked at her as she walked to an empty seat. It had been raining all morning and her face was wet. She glanced around the class and her eyes fell on me. I looked at her and gave her a small smile. She smiled back then faced the front of the room. The professor had been talking all the while but I had no idea what he was rambling on about.
My eyes were focused on her. She was gorgeous with light brown hair, pale skin, and green eyes. I tried to turn my attention back to the professor but my eyes kept glancing over at her. There were a lot of empty seats in the classroom with about 10 students total. I sat in the front of the class like I always did. It was a habit of mine.
The professor finally stopped talking and decided to ask everyone what their names were. We went around the room and I discovered that her name was Kimberly. She even had a nice voice. The rest of the class went by quickly and then the class was dismissed. I gathered my things and began to exit the room. I glanced at Kimberly as I was stepping out into the hallway. She looked up from where she was gathering up her things and our eyes met. She smiled at me and I smiled in return.
The rest of the day I could not get her out of my head. I thought about her smile and those wonderful eyes of hers. I really wanted to get to know her but I was so shy. I had always been quiet and on the shy side. Many women liked me but I couldn’t really carry a conversation. I barely dated when I was in high school and now that I was in college I was hoping to change that.
The following day, the professor put us into groups to discuss a topic and I was in Kimberly’s group. I was excited and sat next to her. We discussed the topic and finished jotting down notes about it. We started to talk about ourselves and I discovered that Kimberly was from out of state and had moved here just to go to school. She didn’t know much about the area and was still trying to figure things out.
I told her that I could show her around and be her tour guide of sorts. She laughed and said that she would like that. I was happy to hear that and we made plans to hang out that Saturday. To say that I was excited is an understatement. I already had ideas running through my head about all the places that I could show her. We exchanged numbers and then the professor had us all return to our seats.
When the day was over, I started to make a list of things that I wanted to show Kimberly. Our city was small but there were a lot of cool things to do including checking out the beach. I jotted down what I thought would be cool to show her and planned out our day. It took me some time to figure out all that we could see and do on Saturday and I was pleased with my final itinerary.
When Saturday finally arrived, I drove to the apartment building where Kimberly lived. She was sharing a unit with two other roommates. She walked towards my car with a small smile on her face and I was in awe of just how beautiful she was. She got in my car and I could immediately smell her perfume.
We chatted as I drove to Main Street then parked the car. I wanted to show her all the local stores and places that I frequented often. I looked at Kimberly who seemed to be excited about the antique store with all its knick-knacks and obscure items.
We talked and laughed as we looked at all the oddities. She really liked a small painting that was being sold for very cheap. She bought it and we headed up the block. It was a bright and sunny day with a nice breeze. We walked towards the nearby park and sat down on a bench. We watched the teenagers skate as we talked.
Kimberly told me about her life in Texas and how she wanted to go somewhere completely different after high school. I asked her why our small city which was in the middle of nowhere. She said that she knew that the college offered one of the best art programs in the country and chose to go here. I had no idea about that as I was in the English program.
Next, we headed back to the car and drove out to a small market where various vendors were selling their wares. We got some food and walked the grounds. There were a lot of people out including many that I knew. I waved at them and introduced Kimberly to many of them.
I then decided to show Kimberly the historical district as I thought it might be interesting for her to see. We walked up the street and I started to point out the famous buildings to her. Kimberly listened intently and nodded to along to my stories about each place.
There was a huge movie theater that had been around since the 1920s. She took out her phone and started to take some pictures of the buildings. She was amazed at how quiet it was and I told her that it was always quiet here. She let out a laugh and told her that it was kind of weird to her as she was used to so much noise.
We walked back to the car after some time and I drove us out to the beach. The sun was just starting to set which painted the sky orange. We got out of the car and walked towards the beach. We took off our shoes and sat down on the sand.
There were a few people swimming in the water while others stretched out on the sand. I noticed that there were a lot of couples who were making out. One couple was kissing deeply a few feet from us. Kimberly smiled as she looked at the couple. She thanked me for showing her around and placed her hand on my leg. I turned to her and she leaned in and kissed me.
I was surprised by this and kissed her back. We pulled apart after a moment and she rested her head on my shoulder as we watched the sun’s descent.
