Summary

After navigating through a dark hallway, two characters ascend a lighthouse staircase to find themselves transported by a bright light to a mysterious island.

Abstract

Following their journey through a dark hallway, the protagonists enter a lighthouse where they carefully climb the stairs, guided by advice to use the petiole to avoid falling. As they reach the halfway point, they discuss the possibility of running to the top, which one character decides to do, aided by a four-leaf clover for good luck. The atmosphere is serene, with the beauty of the sea sparkling in the sun, until a blinding light transports them instantaneously to an unknown island. Upon arrival, the characters, Buddy and The Fish, are disoriented but intrigued by the new sights and smells of their surroundings. The narrative concludes with an invitation for other writers to engage in a 15-minute writing challenge based on the lighthouse creative writing prompt.

They are now in a lighthouse…

They are slowly climbing up the stairs. “Tide yourself with the petiole, so you don’t fall.” “Yeah, I’ll try.”

They were coming from the dark hallway.

“We are halfway through, hanging there.”

“Or you can just run up there.”

“Are you sure? Ok, then. I’ll just run, and we’ll get there in a minute or less.”

“Good thing you got this four-leaf clover.”

“I know, right.”

It’s so quiet and beautiful. The sea was sparkling by the Sun. They enjoyed the air and breeze for a few minutes. And the Sunlight became so bright, and they both shut their eyes.

“What is it?”

“I don’t know! Oh, no, what’s happening here!?”

The light then took them to an Island in a few seconds. Buddy felt a different texture on his paws and smelt something different from the lighthouse. He slowly opened his eyes. “Where are we?” Buddy said. “I don’t know. I smell something, too.” The Fish answered.
