The next two days, they kissed and touched whenever there was an opportunity and no one could see them.
“Can I come to your place tonight?” he asked her on Friday afternoon. He had his briefcase in his hand, ready to leave for the weekend.
“No,” Judith refused.
Disappointment flashed over his face.
“I’m home tomorrow night,” she said and smiled at him.
Judith’s plan was to play hard to get. She wanted him to make an effort for her. Never again would she allow a man to control her. She understood it might be difficult for the manager to get away from his wife on the weekend, but if he really had the desire to fuck her, he would make it happen.
That was what it all boiled down to after all: fucking. She was tired of pleasuring herself.
He found a way.
Less than half an hour after he rang her doorbell on Saturday night, they were naked and fucking on the couch. They never made it to the bedroom that night. He fucked her while she lay on her back on the couch. He fucked her while she lay over the armrests of the couch and he fucked her while she was on her knees on the side table. That evening, he came twice, and she did about twenty times.
Judith was insatiable, but by midnight he had to leave. Judith’s first affair with a married man lasted seven months. In those months, Judith made a promotion from the typing pool to being his full-time secretary. Their affair ended for two reasons. The first was that Judith found he was getting too controlling about when he wanted to come around to her place, and second, she found a better prospect than him.
This better prospect was one of her lover’s business associates from another company. The associate was higher up the corporate ladder than her lover. Judith always wore skirts that ended about five centimeters above her knees and silk blouses with one extra button undone to show her cleavage.
She knew her female colleagues talked behind her back, but this faded in the light of the men who couldn’t keep their eyes off her. They either looked at her cleavage, her legs, or her bottom.
No one realized it, but Judith knew of every look.
When this business associate entered her office for an appointment with her manager, his appearance instantly intrigued her. He looked older than her manager, his dark hair speckled with gray. The suit he wore fitted his athletic body to accentuate his assets — his long legs, broad shoulders and slender built.
The moment Judith laid eyes on him, a shiver ran down her spine: she wanted him. Her eyes flashed to his hands. She sighed with relief when she saw the wedding band.
He must have seen her interest, or maybe it was her clothes that caught his attention. On exiting the office of her manager, he stopped, put his business card on her desk and said: “Call me.”
Judith blushed, smiled at him, and nodded.
He left her office with a grin on his face.
A deep desire burned in Judith to call him, but she waited two weeks before she did. From the first moment on, she wanted to clarify she was not to be commanded.
He remembered who she was when she explained he had left his business card with her. She did the same as she did when she started the affair with her first lover. This new man — in her mind she called him ‘The Suit’ — invited her to dinner that same evening. She accepted the invitation.
He saw it as a sign that he would fuck her the same night, but Judith held it off for more than a week before she allowed him to visit her at home on a Friday night. By then, she had him eating out of her palm.
‘The Suit’ was not only a better lover than her manager, but he also arranged a promotion for Judith. He played golf with a senior manager and convinced him he should have a different secretary. He told his golf partner his current secretary was rude and unprofessional. Then he praised the wonderful and professional way Judith interacted with him when he visited her boss.
Judith acted surprised when she heard about her promotion from secretary of a junior manager to that of a senior manager.
‘The Suit’ was in her life for several months until he had served his purpose.
More men followed.
Judith slowly climbed the corporate ladder. Sometimes she fucked the men with ulterior motives and sometimes she fucked them because she really liked them.
All the time, she was in control. Not once did Judith allow any man to decide the pace of their affair, or to boss her around. The moment a man was too demanding, she kicked him out, no matter how much she liked him. She never worried the men would be nasty to her or try to ruin her career when she ended an affair. They had a lot more to lose, because they were all married and, besides their marriages, their careers were also on the line.
Judith earned a secretary’s salary, and even though she moved higher up the corporate ladder, her salary wasn’t large. However, the men loved giving her presents and many times they gave her money. They paid for holidays, but those holidays were always in the country. Judith didn’t mind this, as she could save up her own money for the overseas trip she longed to make.
She had once traced the bloodline of her ancestors back to the Netherlands, and since then, she had a deep desire to visit. That was what she saved for, to visit the small, intriguing country she had read so much about. Judith wanted to visit the Netherlands while she was still vital and in good health.
She had it all planned out.
Then the unexpected happened: she fell in love.
She met Hank in a bar one night around Christmas. Judith barely went out by herself, but that one night, on her way home, she hopped into a bar for a drink. She wasn’t in the mood to be home all alone and her current married lover would not be with her until after Christmas.
That was the only thing that still got to her: not being able to spend the holidays with a special person.
Hank sat at the bar when she walked in and sat down on a stool close to him. She ordered a Chardonnay and halfway through her first glass, they started a conversation.
Hank wasn’t an attractive man, but he had immaculate manners. It was obvious he took good care of himself.
Or his wife does, Judith thought.
The wedding band on his ring finger didn’t go unnoticed. According to her own set of rules, it was safe to talk to him.
Afterwards, she wasn’t able to tell what made her deviate from her normal routine. Maybe another year of loneliness during the holidays had finally gotten to her. Hank went home with her and they ended up together in her bed.
Later, it was as difficult for her to let him go as it was for him to leave her.
He visited her on the day after Christmas. None of her other lovers ever did this. On New Year’s Eve, he paid her a quick visit early in the evening to give her a kiss and a hug.
Every day, all day long, Judith only thought of Hank. He was in her mind constantly. When her lover at the time asked to visit her early in the New Year, she made up an excuse why she couldn’t see him.
It didn’t take Judith long to realize she was in love with Hank.
Suddenly, all her well-guarded rules disappeared.
Hank set the pace in their relationship and for the first time since her husband died, she didn’t mind. Hank made time to see her and take her out, but they always went to places where he knew his wife or their friends wouldn’t see them. Sometimes they drove for an hour to go out for dinner.
But, Judith didn’t mind. She was in love and she loved every minute she spent with him.
