RANDOM | FICTION | DRABBLE

She Couldn’t Write Like Shakespeare

Not too many can

Today’s random word is Prosy.

Because drabbles are short, please consider staying on this page for at least 30 seconds. I’d love to know you were here. 💕

Juliet dreamt of becoming a Pulitzer Prize winner for longer than she could remember, but critics slashed her vision when they read her work.

She couldn’t imagine why. Perhaps it’s because she wrote unsolved mysteries and crimes of passion without love.

She used words that made even sailors scowl, but if J. D. Salinger could write a novel full of profanity, wasn’t she following in his footsteps? Maybe she was cursed, more than her curse words.

Accused of writing prosy language, Juliet burned her musings and left her prose to the pros.

That’s when her creativity ignited, and inspiration struck.

Remember to visit Fiction Shorts often daily so you don’t miss my daily drabbles and those of other deserving drabblers.

Nancy Oglesby writes, “If you are unfamiliar with a drabble, it is a fiction story of exactly 100 words.”

To make the challenge more interesting, each day, she gives a random word prompt.

Don’t miss out on today’s drabble.

If you’re looking for this month’s prompts, Fiction Short’s got you covered.

Here are the participants and supporters of my varied challenges who permit me to tag. Please show their stories some love. (Please let me know if you want your name removed from or added to the list. Either is easy to do, per your request. All you need to do is ask in the comments or a note.)
