Part of the Team

I’m absolutely thrilled to join the (growing!) team of writers here at ILLUMINATION.

The community aspect is my favorite part of Medium, so I’m looking forward to connecting with several of you other writers and readers on here.

Here’s what you need to know about me.

Freelance Travel Writer

Aside from a few corporate content gigs (and couple of shifts behind the bar), I’ve been a full-time working freelance travel writer and copywriter for the past decade and change.

And it’s been awesome.

I just returned from a 10-month around the world trip, and I’m already looking forward to the next adventure when travel becomes more of a reality.

I typically write about minimalism, ultralight packing, and how to work remotely for my travel clients. I also love to share my best travel tips and advice for destinations from Spain to Sri Lanka. Just drop me a comment if you have any travel questions and we’ll get into it.

Here are some of my favorite travel articles:

Writing Advice

I don’t make a ton of money as a writer, but I’m proud to say that writing is my full-time, real-life, honest-to-goodness “job.”

One of my goals on Medium is to show people how they can become a working (paid) writer, because it’s honestly not that hard.

I’ve written a handful of guides and writing advice to help you get started as a freelance writer:

High on Medium

I write on Medium most days, whether it’s an article or an illustrated poem:

I also like to clap for the articles I like in multiples of five. I don’t know why.
