Shattered but Resilient

poetry prompt: resilience

Photo by Ashkan Forouzani on Unsplash || shattered phone screen of Samsung phone

glass, shattered

my heart breaking to pieces, finding no shards, just a brilliant web of cracks across the top of my phone screen.

my heart popped out and popped right back in like a phone in a phone case, yknow, the contraption that would have prevented this all.

yet in some strange resilience not only did my phone survive, despite all odds, despite the clear crack through the center of the selfie cam,

this little mighty phone persevered through my clumsy actions.

it still took pictures, let me read your billiant poems, let me spend hours on weekends chatting with my long-distance partner.

thank you, not only for existing, but for being strong, through the adversity, for showing me that it can be done.
