Abstract

Most Medium authors know that if a story is not behind the paywall, they can share it with anyone as a free-read … including non-members. All they need to do is to copy and send their story’s URL. But what if you’d like to share (even pay-walled stories) with family? Well, now you can!

YES ITS TRUE! … YOU CAN NOW DO IT!

If you’d like to share ANY of your stories (including the ‘pay-walled’ ones) with friends, family, and fans, you can now do it. Thanks to some recent Medium tweaking, you can now send FULL reading links to anyone … even if they are non-members.

That’s good news hey?

AND THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT:

Medium now allows authors to create a Special Friend Link which enables them to give ANYONE free access to a story (even non-members).

Get your Special Friend Link to share directly with anyone you choose by following the simple steps outlined below:

1: Open the story for which you want to grab a Special Friend Link.

2: Click on the share icon for the story … found at top of your story. (The SPECIAL SHARE ICON a-top each story, looks like the image below:)

THIS IS WHAT A SHARE ICON LOOKS LIKE

When you click on the Special Share Icon, a drop-down menu will appear.

3: Copy the Friend Link that appears in the drop-down menu, then use it (directly or via a social media platform), to send to friends, family, & fans.

4: Share away! … Anyone using this link will have free access.

That’s the way to do it!

Go on … give it a try!
