The Daily Cuppa

Sharing the Joy of My Hawaiian Rainforest Flowers

Tiny is the flower, …

“Ukuli’i ka pua onaona I ka mau’u” (Tiny is the flower, yet it scents the grass around it)

Hawaiian wisdom is grounded in reverence for nature.

Both animals and objects are viewed as manifestations of gods and goddesses who communicate guidance messages and spiritual truths.

The islands still hold this unique energy and will welcome those who enter with respect. If you are willing to quiet your internal chatter and listen, you too can make the connection.

This is the place where I write.

My hale (home) is tucked into a lot in the Ola’a Rainforest near the summit of Kilauea volcano. Gardening for food can be a challenge, but orchids and other flowers thrive. They are the inspiration for a recent poem that was placed in a contest in The Lark.

I share both here.
