She is my heart's delight in every way, With innocent bright wondering lighted eyes, At dawn’s first gleam a promise for the day, With life unlimited as bright blue skies. One velvet petal at a time unfurls, From tiny bundle smelling of the dew, Face turned toward the sun the bud uncurls, Her placement in the garden’s life is new. Steadying early steps with tight held hand, Releasing it when now it’s time to bloom, Infectious laughter of her youth is grand, I step aside so she can have more room. I long to keep her always in my sight, Remembering she is my heart’s delight.

She is my heart’s delight in every way, The second little bud upon the vine, Artistically her tiny branches sway, Upon the fragrant breezes of her mind. The tenderest of hearts lives in this flower, She sees companions hurt through tear-filled eyes, Soothing woes and sighs with all her power, Transforming smiles and laughter to new heights. First bud reaches for the sun, she follows, They gaze together at each star filled night, Second bud adds fragrance to the hollow, Where each one grows into the morning light. I long to keep them always in my sight, Remembering they are my heart’s delight.

They are my heart’s delight in every way, These tiny buds within a garden grand. They grow from soil and roots of bygone days, And with two billion other blossoms stand, Upon foundations left within the soil, By generations passing long ago, Who longed to see the outcome of their toil, To know the places that their seeds would go. Lilies shadow spirits often linger, ‘Tween earth and heaven eager to assist, Tiny seedlings sprouting life so eager, Tendrils vining up from the glowing mists. I long to keep them always in my sight, Remembering they are my heart’s delight.

We were their heart’s delight in every way, Those lilies of the garden’s bygone age, Our witnesses between the worlds they stay, And cheer us as we write upon the page. How vast the wonder of this garden grand, A blue-green sphere within a universe, Green vessels channeling Creator’s hand, A myriad of tiny seeds disperse. From root to stem to flower flows delight, Each generation streaming to the next, The hope and love that comes down from the light, To be recorded here within this text. They long to keep us always in their sight, Remembering we were their heart’s delight.

So, guard your heart’s delight in every way, Drink deep the hope and love that feeds our kind, Gaze far out from the hillside, pause your day, And hear the silent whisper in your mind. Pass on the joy from root to bud to seeds, From mother earth we each must channel life, And gauge each day the impact of our deeds, Let’s leave to all bright shining love not strife. So, cherish all the wond’ring lighted eyes, Guard their tender hearts and hear their laughter, Pass on to them your hopes and visions high, Paint for them a happl’y ever after. Tell each of them you’ll keep them in your sight, And that they’ll always be your heart’s delight.
