To List or Not to List

How to write a listicle, Medium has something better — lists. I have been reading this new feature on Medium, and last night just before I finished Day 2 of my Writing Challenge on steroids, I noticed something different — Lists.

What is “Lists?”

Introducing lists: a new product feature in beta. Lists are an easy way to quickly organize and share stories, from personal favorites, to recommended reads within a topic or area of expertise, to themed lists around stories that inspire you.

Want to save your favorite stories so you can revisit them? Organize ideas on the best writing on UX Design for your colleagues? Share helpful advice with friends? Tap the bookmark icon on a story to get started.

How will I use lists?

At first, I don’t quite get where it will all fit with my stories, but I can already see where I place my own lists — I can use it to make my stories more organized.

You can choose to make your lists private, and this is how I can use private lists to help me reference my own stories. For example, I can make a list based on tags to help me become a top writer.

Public Lists

The way to make friends here on Medium is to link to other Medium stories. That way, we help each other, and it helps our ranking on Google SERP.

I can also use lists to share my series of articles on the same topic or related topics.

Also, I can curate the best articles I read here, and there are many great authors here.

Conclusion

Medium is changing, and I am with you. There are many ways we can help the platform to grow even better. Let us use the new feature and give the company some feedback.

Medium Creators, Lists are a good thing.
