Self-Transformation As A Way Of Changing The World
Self-Improvement Is A Challenge In Itself
We are so used to getting external validation that comparison is typical nowadays. We get good marks to rank higher in class. We work shoes tight at our job to get a promotion. We try to be funny to become a social cred.
When it comes to personal growth, external validation from people don’t represent the correct progress because they haven’t seen your learning journey. Our results alone directly impact their evaluation. We know the outcome effects are short term, and the happiness peak vanishes after we achieve the goal. It is the journey that transforms us, not the goal. Everyone knows this, but still, the goal excites us more than the process.
Sometimes it takes months and some times years to become successful. And the difficult part is the testing of our patience in this journey. You cannot expect good things to happen overnight. You have to push for it, be consistent and develop the mentality of internal rewards like peace, satisfaction, happiness, contentment, gratitude, and resilience. These qualities will build trust in the process and also patience.
The conditions sound very simple and easy to incorporate. Still, when you experiment in finding them from daily tasks, the learning curve becomes steeper with time because of the accumulation of small achievements and your ability to mindfully appreciate them.
Positivity Is Contagious
You become what you think. Similarly, you attract positive people with your radiance. Negativity won’t survive near you, and neither will the negative people. They will just taunt, pretend to listen to you, or just leave the circle altogether. You might find some of your relationships drifting apart this way, but later you will realise they were toxic anyway. So, you had to let them go at some time.
That is the effect of focussing on self-transformation. We are so active and directed in our life pursuit that this determination impacts everyone who sees us. Sometimes it also motivates them in finding their purpose in life. Once they start believing that they got inspired by you and changed their life because of you, you will see their behavioural shift and sometimes even hear from them about it.
Getting feedbacks like these makes you confident that you are changing the world without showing your success to anyone voluntarily. Everyone likes to talk about oneself a lot. And if you prefer to struggle silently, be proud that you are not on the narcissistic end of the spectrum. They demand attention all the time and just can’t stop bragging about how cool they are.
Becoming Inspiration Without Knowing
Becoming an accidental inspiration and then continuing it requires immense gratitude for lifelong learning. Practitioners of lifelong learning inspire others to follow the same path. All famous personalities you know right now are continuously learning. Whoever reads their story builds enormous trust in this concept. Learning is the best way to train the brain. That rhymed!😂
When you face new challenges every day, new problems every day, your mind tries to extrapolate from the experiences in finding the optimum solution. The grounded nature opens us to a world of possibilities. This endless stream of lifelong learning builds a mountain of positive achievements. Nothing is enough for you (progress-wise) because you still think improvement is the constant in your life. You work for it every day and sleep peacefully, knowing that you have given your best throughout the day.
The people who admire your work may never tell you how impactful you are because they may be shy or ego might have suppressed their humility. But knowing that you are affecting people’s lives every day gives you a strong sense of belief in walking the right path without interacting with them at a high frequency. It is the same way the Sun imparts energy by shining forever (billion years is a definite number I get it, but relatively it is still a very long time for us).
Power Of Constructive Feedback
Constructive feedback is a way to win arguments without hurting anyone’s sentiments. But the silent feedback you see from other people’s actions, that says a lot about learning transfer. I started the morning exercise streak and saw some people following it after me. I started daily blogging, and again I saw a few acquaintances began journaling.
There are so many kinds of feedback around us that selective absorption requires mental effort. There are positive feedbacks, and then there are negative ones. Which one we absorb is highly dependent on our mindset and mood.
If we are lazy and feeling blue, we invite negative vibes that will drown us deeper. When we are energetic and passionate, we focus on the positives instead. Having a positive mindset eliminates distractions more naturally than any external tools will ever do. Quality time in introversion is a great way to develop self-transformation, which in turn inspires everyone around you. And you never know how far your energy can radiate! So, keep shining to make the world a better place.
This blog belongs to a series of posts I am publishing in this 100-days streak. Navigate to the end of article 22 for the references from day 23 onwards. If you would like to read the ones before day 22, here is the first article that has the documentation in the end.
