Self-Love Should Be a Top Priority

Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles asked, “What is self-love look like to you?” I know some of you may have a hard time answering this question. For me this is easy. I have always tried my best to take care of my mind, body, and soul.
Self-love to me should be a top priority in everyone's life. If at all possible try once a week to take care of “you”. That is self-love, if you care for your body and your mind you would want to eat healthy and exercise to keep healthy right? Well, this is self-love. It is something we all should do to maintain self-love and keep stress low in our lives. Jobs, kids, spouses, and even pets can add stress to our lives. Social media can even add stress by reading things we may not like. So I advise each person to practice self-love at least once a week.

Start your day off by going to your favorite coffee shop, just by yourself. No phone, no internet and no social media. If you have a kindle just read a book you downloaded. Or maybe take time to just think or write. Whatever you like to do.
After maybe go for a walk. If your town has a spa go get a massage. I heard foot massages can be very relaxing. I have yet to try that. Regular massages can help loosen the muscles and tension in your back and body. Will help reduce stress.
Go for lunch at your favorite spot and order what you love. Spoil yourself. You may think you could get lonely for the day, but just remember the day is about you and only you. No worrying about anyone else.
If you know how to meditate, that is a great relaxation technique and very good for the soul. There are many guided meditations that can help you get centered and just feel so good inside and out.
Doing this once a week can help with stress which can lower blood pressure which can lower the risk of having a stroke and heart attack provided you also eat healthy other days of the week. Eating healthy would be a form of loving your body and wanting to take very well care of it.
Valentines' day is coming up for all you single men and women out there. Try this and take the day for yourself. Bet you could come out by the end of the day feeling better than even some of the couples out there.
