When I was 15, as part of an academic assignment, I finished a writing prompt and turned a dry prompt into an emotional story. My English teacher Mr. Azizul Haq hardly used to give anyone above 60% marks. I got over 80% on that exam. Not only that, he brought the copy to the class and talked about that in length. That changed me and gave me confidence in my writing.

Hi, my name is Mofrad Muntasir

At the suggestion of Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, the creator of the publication Illumination, in his writing challenge 100-day challenge f, I am sharing my story and why I write.

Professionally, I am a marketing guy who has worked with digital marketing, traditional marketing, pricing, product development, research, brand management, and media. I have led marketing functions of large corporations and startups. I am proud of the time when I was a pivotal member of a startup’s management committee and grew the company by 5 times within a year.

I am from Bangladesh, a country of rivers, food, and color. I am a son, husband, father, brother, and friend. I love traveling, watching action, superheroes, feel-good, and time-traveling movies and TV shows, reading science fiction, detective stories, and non-fiction.

From Fiction to Life Lessons

I started by writing fiction. After that praise from Mr. Azizul Haq, I continued reading and writing. Eventually, I earned a prize for writing satire, wrote and directed our college play, and wrote two short video dramas for internal audiences.

In recent times, I find writing helps me declutter my thoughts. It helps me to plan my life, deal with stress and solve problems as well. Overall, it has helped me see the bigger picture in life.

I am here in Medium because I want to share my life story & lessons, and experiences. I started writing recently (Q2, 2021) in Medium to pursue writing as a hobby and energize this passion.
