Saturn Series: Second House or Taurus — You Reap what you Sow
The influence of transit or natal Saturn through the signs and houses

Welcome to the second article in this Saturn series.
This series will explore how Saturn might show up in your life when it transits the Second House or Taurus, or if you have this placement in your birth chart.
You can find the introduction to this series here, which includes links to all the articles in the series.
Saturn in the Second House or Taurus by transit or birth
The second House is all about the things you value, your material possessions, and your money.
It rules entrepreneurship like start-ups and other personal projects.
If you have this placement in your birth chart, you are likely to be rather thrifty and resourceful either because of scarcities growing up or for another reason.
Although Saturn limits, I have found that it doesn’t take away completely. It’s like it’s asking you to use what you have to make something better, make it work more efficiently for you. It plants a seed, it says ‘I will give you a nudge in this direction, but it is up to you to put in the work and make something of the opportunity’.
Although money might seem tighter during this transit, it could be that you are making more than ever, but you are choosing of your own accord to be more frugal and save and invest more. A hallmark of Taurus. Be mindful of what you do with your money especially now. Do research on the best places to save and invest and it will pay off in the future.
It may also force you to rethink your work situation if you are employed. You might find yourself asking questions like ‘Do I really want to stay in this job, even if I do earn alright money?’ and ‘How can I turn my passions into something profitable?’. Saturn will ask you to consider starting a little side-hustle or something on which you could grow to be something bigger, over time.
On that note, remember — time is your best friend when it comes to Saturn and its transits! Because Saturn delays rewards, the fruits of your labour will likely come later, but don’t let that discourage you! The planet of karma appreciates hard work and you will get back what you put out.
The zodiac signs correspond with parts of the body. Taurus rules the throat and neck. It could be that you had a stutter early in life and you had to undergo speech therapy or do other work and now you not only speak well, but beautifully.
A transit here might induce some insecurity with the way you speak or a health issue might flare up. I have Saturn in Taurus and had recurring tonsilitis as a child until I had them removed at eight years old.
Saturn in the 2nd/Taurus could also point to quietness early in life that fades as one matures and becomes more confident, ‘finding one’s voice’, so to speak. It is not so much that a person with natal Saturn here is shy, rather they would be reserved, speaking most when they believe what they would say is valuable.
Famous example
J.K. Rowling has natal Saturn in the Second House, in Pisces, and she achieved incredible through her voice through her writing of the Harry Potter series.
In 1995, at her Saturn return, she began writing the first book of the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone for US readers!).
Saturn back in Pisces, thus the beginning of Rowling’s second Saturn return, coincides with the announcement of a TV series described as a “decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love and care this global franchise is known for,” in a statement by Max (formerly HBO Max). Conclusion: I love astrology.
