Saturn Series: First House or Aries — Tightening up Everything
The influence of transit or natal Saturn through the signs and houses
Welcome to the first article in my Saturn Series.
This series will explore how Saturn might show up in your life when it transits the 1st house or Aries, or if you have this placement in your birth chart.
Saturn in the First House or Aries by transit or birth
The First House is the gateway to the whole chart. It hugely influences the manifestations of all other planets.
Like privilege, where you start from matters.
When the planet of limitation and restriction moves here, it impacts everything. The two to three years of this transit will be a major growth and maturation period.
If you were born with Saturn here, congratulations! Yes, in early life you may have faced more restrictions than your peers, but the lessons you learn early on because of this will set you up to be more prepared for a secure, successful future — if you do the work! This is similar to having a Saturn-ruled ascendant such as Capricorn or Aquarius.
You could find roadblocks seemingly at every turn, and you might not know where to go anymore. Just trust that you will find your way eventually.
Aries and the First House, are associated with Mars, the planet of action, drive, and energy.
With restrictions here, it may feel like you have no energy, partly because of the frustration of constantly trying and failing, but also because you might find you need to take better care of your body, your ‘self’.
See this transit as an opportunity to really knuckle down and work on yourself. Sort out your health — mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.
While you would have been forced to start this already with Saturn in the 12th just before, especially with your mental and spiritual, now there is a slight shift to the focus being more on the physical and emotional — your body.
With Saturn in the 12th, you would have had to let go and heal from things that were hurting you mentally and spiritually. You might have spent more time alone, or with limited company, in order to do this.
Now, you might need to see if what you’re putting into your body is good for you, if you are doing enough and the right kind of exercise, and how you deal with your emotions.
You also might want to review if how you show up in behaviour and appearance is aligned with your current identity.
For some first-hand experience, when I went through this transit recently, my entire style changed, I cut my hair, got nose piercings (two), and generally got cooler, slay. I also went through a sexuality and possibly even gender (minor) crisis (brief), which was, honestly, surprising. However, Saturn is the daddy of the zodiac after all.
Basically, who you are will become more clear to yourself over the course of this transit.
You are likely to have lots of great ideas, especially business, career, or materially related, but you may find that you come up short when you take action on them. Aries likes things to be fast, and Saturn isn’t like that. Saturn wants a long-term return on investments.
Something that might help you get through such frustrations, is believing that if something doesn’t work out how you want it to, it’s because there’s something better up ahead and the universe wants you to be free to go ahead with that instead. Practice patience.
The key to making the most of this transit is to work as smartly as possible without taking shortcuts. Saturn loves the long game, and investments in any part of life that you make now will reward you in the future.
(P.S. I only use one nose piercing now, maybe since Saturn’s moved out of my 1st House my identity is shifting again? I literally decided I didn’t want to use the second one just before Saturn moved signs. Am I less cool now?)
Feel free to leave a comment if you have a first house or Aries Saturn in your birth chart or have experience with the transit!
Thanks, and can check out the next article in this series here: Saturn in the 2nd House!
