Satan Is Using The Vaccine

It’s true. I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

Satan is using this vaccine to forward his evil agenda and there seems to be no resistance to it from my fellow Chrsitians. I never thought I’d live to see this day, but here we are.

Yesterday in Austria, it was announced that by February 1st every resident needs to be vaccinated. There was a mixed reaction and a large demonstration was held at Heldenplatz. Lots of Christians joined to protest against the mandate. I was encouraged to join.

I refused.

I refused, not because of my opinion on the vaccine, but because I didn’t want to add fuel to Satan’s fire. Oh, he’s using the vaccine alright. But not in the way Christians are thinking. You see, this vaccine doesn’t need to be the mark of the beast in order for it to influence you. Our fear and ignorance over it is quite enough to do the trick.

Disclaimer: This post is not addressing the ethical side of a vaccine mandate. I’m not supporting or discouraging any law surrounding the vaccine that has been issued by the government. I’m after something else.

This is about how Satan has gripped the hearts and minds of my fellow Christians with a spirit of fear, using the vaccine as a tool to do so. Not because the vaccine is right or wrong, but because of how easily Christians are forsaking their hope in Christ and replacing it with articles written by no-name websites with no medical legitimacy whatsoever.

On a side note: It’s amazing how many people have become medical experts in the last few months.

On a serious note: My heart is breaking. I am so saddened to see the reaction of the conservative Christian world. We’ve shown our hand, and in it is anger and fear.

We’re so busy being afraid of what could happen that we’ve forgotten our hope is in Christ, not this world. Even our eschatology (the end times) has become a cover for conspiracy theories.

We’ve become so occupied with rumors that we’ve lost sight of Christ.

Whatever your opinion is of COVID and the vaccine, you’re totally entitled to it. I’m not bashing anyone who doesn’t want the vaccine. What I am bashing is being controlled by fear and buying into fake news and garbage conversations that do nothing but produce anger toward people who differ with you on this topic.

Make your decision by educating yourself with credible sources and stand by it. No matter your choice, we can still love Jesus together. But don’t spread fear. Don’t spread anger. Don’t forget that Christ is still King.

The world needs to see our hope and faith in Jesus more than ever right now.

Churches: Stop preaching your political opinions from the pulpit. That platform is for the gospel and the gospel only. Preach the Word.

Friends: Don’t let Satan use your attitude toward the vaccine to take your eyes off Christ.

Satan is using our reaction to this situation more than the situation itself.

One last thought

Some Christians know and love (rightly so) stories about people like Richard Wurmbrand, who was tortured for Christ. He was greatly used of God and brought the gospel into many countries in Europe when it was illegal to do so. Some of us have even, at times, thought that being a persecuted missionary like him would be kind of cool. To put our lives on the line for Christ. To really give Him our all.

As for me, I felt God calling me to Austria two years ago. What a daring missionary I am, living in Vienna, the city of music. I think my biggest danger here is eating an undercooked Kebap.

Especially when I was younger, I loved telling God that I would give Him anything, that I would even die for Him! While there’s legitimate debate on how much of that was genuine love for God and how much was seeking self-glory, one thing is true: How can I tell God that, and believe that I’m truly called here, but then run away at the first sign of trouble?

“God I’ll do anything for you!…except get a vaccine.”

Let’s say the stories are right and this vaccine really is a government experiment. Honestly… it doesn’t change anything for me. If the country I know I’m called to minister in requires me to be vaccinated, then so be it.

What does a country where Christianity is illegal and a vaccine mandate have in common? Neither of them ought to take your focus away from preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
