A Poem

When I dream of you I am not so lonely it is as if you never passed through the veil, and as if you are merely taking your time vacationing or on sabbatical, lost

on a lovely jaunt around the world and I forgot! here you are!

and now I remember the truth I am safe in the world I throw my arms around your neck, smell the sweetness of your skin, feel the softness of

your cheek, for one diamond moment you are here I am safe in the world certain you never left and upon awakening I hear the rawness of my own sobs and I remember it is still true — you never left and today I am safe in the world
