Sad By The Sea
A deluge is falling from the sky. Cold, freezing, scary rain. It wouldn’t help to know that spring’s arrived, here by the sea.
The shore has all but disappeared. The waves have claimed the lovely beach. I’m in a funk, I’m all in tears. My happiness is out of reach.
Where are you, love? Where is your smile? I did, I came back to our beach. I am back here, to our little paradise, our own retreat.
But love, it’s empty, it’s abandoned… You haven’t been around it seems. The water and the selfish weather have claimed our memories, our dreams…
Our sanctuary held the promise to reunite us in the spring again. But here I am, it’s just me here and all these tears, raindrops, waves.
Thank you, Jonny Masters, for this week’s prompt: the sea. I love it :)
