sad but lonely

His jacket reeked of the whiskey she’d thrown on him before she stormed out of the bar. He chased after but lost her in the night. His words still stinging his ears. How foolish he’d been. Foolish and undeserving. Yet relieved when he saw her waiting for him on his front porch. Sad but lonely.

I was laid off due to quarantine so I am taking a creative writing course online to help pass the time and my latest assignment is to write a 55 word short story. This was my attempt at that. If you don’t mind give me a grade and/or feedback. Toodles.
