Rum to the Rescue
A prompted poem
Sometimes, when all hell breaks loose, I’m not sure what to do; truly, when it gets like that, I just don’t have a clue.
Thankfully, help was sent, express from a friend, who had seen my troubled state and wanted it to end.
Yes, rum came to my rescue, from many miles away, sent by an angel to help me and brighten up my day.
So next time times get tough, you know just what to do, pick me up a bottle and rum to the rescue.

This is my tongue-in-cheek poem dedicated to my favourite tipple, written in response to our latest prompt from Martin Rushton, to write a humorous poem. If you want to have a go yourself, check out Martin’s original post for the instructions.
