Roses By The Bed

Roses by the bed.

Melted candles on the

Bedside tables.

Songs of romance

Still haunt my memories.

I dream of the days

When I am lost in hope.

Ivory doves soaring above us

As we celebrate our love.

But dreams stay as dreams.

Favourite memories

Turn into nightmares.

A never-ending story

Of heartbreak and loss

And what could have been.

Sweet promises

Become inspiration for ballads

That others would sing with glee

Without knowing the torment

Behind the stanzas and melodies.

And yet, I still smile at the roses

You left behind for me ―

Hoping that one day

You would come home to me

And mend the heart

You left for me to stitch.

But dreams will stay as dreams.

A nightmare I willingly accept.

A favourite nightmare on replay

As I lay asleep with the wilted roses

By the bed.

Hi, I’m CyCy!

Thank you for reading. I truly appreciate it!

I apologize for being quiet lately! I have a confession to make. I have been juggling two to three jobs lately, and because of this, I haven’t had much energy to write or physically function at all.

I also have been getting hit with non-stop illnesses. We can thank my immuno-compromised body for that. As soon as all my job training is over and I get a better handle on my schedule, I promise to be as active as I used to be in October.😅🍀🖤

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this sad poetry that haunted my dreams last week, and you will keep coming back for more.

P.S. Thank you to The Scriber’s Nook! And readers, you should check out all the works published in this publication! There are so many amazing creators here.

P.P.S. I’m a multi-genre writer and if you like a little bit of everything, then you have found the right person!

P.P.P.S. For my horror readers, I will update Wake Up. I promise!!!

Shout out to one of my faves, Phoebus Apollo 🖤

Thanks for singing these poems, guiding me with composing music, and showing me different types of art.

A true bestie here. xo
