Returning “Home” in 2023

And Other Travel Plans

We rang in the New Year on a cruise somewhere in the middle of the Caribbean. Well, some of my travel companions did, I was out cold by 9:00 pm on day eleven of a twelve-day cruise. It was the champagne toast ending to a year when we took full advantage of the dropping of COVID restrictions and my mother-in-law’s hankering for travel companions.

A few days ago, this popped up in my email, and while Google tracking is creepy, I felt pretty impressed with our 2022 adventures. An entire loop around the globe worth of miles!

Our adventures included:

March- Washington, DC.

June- Morganton, NC.

July- Aruba to put my step Father-in-Law to rest in the sea (plan to post that story soon).

October- Puerto Rico with just my hubby for our anniversary.

Thank you for indulging me and my 2022 recap. I have a lot of writing to catch up on. Fortunately, we’re taking a little breather to let our bank account recover, so I’ll have some time.

In the Summer of 2023, we plan to visit our friends and old stomping grounds in Colorado and then to Lake Havasu City, AZ. It’s a trip we originally planned for the summer of 2020 and delayed twice. I’m looking forward to our return to the mountains and the long road trip in the wide open skies of the West.

Amazingly, that is the only plan, but I’m sure we’ll sneak in some other trips in. My fourteen-year-old will be taking a school trip to Japan in June and I will be living vicariously through him. While his thirteen-year-old brother wants to take a few friends who have never been camping to the woods, wish me luck on that adventure.

Maybe my 2023 Vision Board will have some new destinations on it!

We have Italy and Greece on our 2024 wish list for our 20th anniversary, and I plan to scour your posts for ideas.
