PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
Reflections in the Water, Yellow Blooming Fields, and a Bunny in the Sky
Week 92 of the photographic documentary of my daily life
Life is much better when you are living in the present. Someone once said. And I’m trying to do that as much as I can. Enjoying the moment. Enjoying my surroundings, nature, the people, and everything that is involved in my life out here.
It’s not about smiling from one ear to the other one from sunrise to sunset. It’s just about taking a break from time to time and enjoying the things you do a little more.
“If you feel like there’s something out there that you’re supposed to be doing, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it.” — Wanda Sykes
My week in photos is starting as usual on a Thursday. Above the clouds. That’s where I work. Here is a picture I took with a camera mounted to my helmet.
Below the clouds, you can see yellow patches. Those are the said rapeseed fields. They are dominating the landscape currently. While most other plants are just about to start growing, the rapeseed flowers are blooming in full.

The dandelions are adding to the yellow in nature at the moment but some of them are already over the peak. Blowballs are covering the lawn surrounding our trailer.
I feel like a child again, picking up the flowers and blowing the seeds into the world.

Every passenger of mine gets told about the blooming rapeseed fields. Yes, my favorite color is yellow and I’m trying to take many selfies in the air with the bright shining fields in the background.

Today was a busy day at work but we had lots of fun together as the crew. In the morning we had a group of people coming for a skydive who were all deaf or deaf-dumb.
For me, it was the first time taking someone on a jump who can’t hear at all. But it didn’t end up being a problem. The briefing took a little longer and signs had to be created for me to be able to tell the passenger when to do what once we were in the air.
But it was so rewarding to see how the group enjoyed the experience of freefalling. I also had a good time with the two passengers I took on a skydive.
Well, and later that day we got a Bachelor’s group. The man who was being forced to do a skydive wasn’t happy about it all, especially not once we brought the pink bunny costume for him. But his friends were cheering him up and it ended up being a fun jump. I was filming the other female tandem master who took the pink bunny for a ride.
(No close-up images from the bunny in the sky due to data protection.)

Monday. I woke up with a stiff body feeling the jumps from the weekend. After a slow morning, I decided to get moving after all to stretch my muscles.
It was a beautiful day and I decided it was warm enough to go paddling on one of the closest canals. The water wasn’t moving and I captured reflecting stillness on the river. (See title image)
The birds were singing all along the shoreline and the fish were active hunting in the water. I couldn’t see any due to the mirky water but I saw many splashes all around me.

Later that afternoon I grabbed my hammock, walked 20 meters from our trailer, and set up a new remote working location.
But I’m honest. I wasn’t that productive today. Once I was laying in the hammock, listening to the birds singing in the trees and insects humming all around me I just fell asleep.
It was a relaxing nap out in nature.

I was about to get lazy and just pull some images I took at work today but then decided against it and just walked out of the trailer with my camera in hand.
Well, and look what I came back with. A gentle butterfly was touching down on a white lilac bush. How beautiful. All white in white with some green in the background.

And since I spoke so much this week about rapeseed fields, I got one more yellow picture for you. Yes, it’s all I can see at the moment. Yellow from the sky. Yellow on the ground.
It was a rather windy and hot day but towards the late afternoon temperatures and the wind settled and I put on my inline skates for a lovely afternoon session.
I didn’t think much of which route to take. Of course, I was starting on the farm road leading in between two of those bright shining fields.

This has been my week in photographs. 7 days. 7 photographs. Anyone can join. Once. Or weekly. It doesn’t matter. We welcome everyone! Dennett was the one starting this photography challenge in 2020 and many have participated ever since.
