Reconnecting With Nature
A day in the mountains
Living in a city is great, but there will always come a time when a much-needed break is due.
A break away from the hustle and bustle lifestyle that is so easy to get caught up in.
I was long overdue for one of these breaks. I always assumed that living in a city close to the mountains would allow me to be there all the time, but unfortunately, life often gets in the way.
This is why I was so excited when the opportunity arose to take a day trip to the mountains.
We arrived in Banff in style. And by in style I mean I slipped and fell as soon as I got out of the car which is pretty typical of me, I am not good with ice.
But the whole thing was pretty hilarious and we stopped off at a viewpoint to see the Hoodoos which are described on the Canadian Encyclopedia website:
We also embarked on a grounding nature walk through the forest which I loved. There's something about walking through a forest that truly makes me feel connected to nature.
I don’t know if it is because I am in the thick of it and am surrounded by trees, creeks, and earth; but there is something that always fills me with strong grounding energy.
And of course, we made multiple stops at different lakes. Some of which were already starting to freeze, but not all of them.
Some were still in their liquid form, but in the next month or two, it’s safe to say that almost all of the bodies of water in the Rockies will be completely frozen.
It also wouldn’t be a road trip without multiple viewpoints stops either.
If this mountain goat had an Instagram account, I think this goat would deem this an Insta-worthy shot for its page.
We also stopped at Bow Falls which has yet to freeze but still looks beautiful nonetheless.
We spent time in both Banff and Canmore town too I personally love Canmore and highly recommend stopping here as Canmore has lots of stores with locally crafted art and décor and this town has such a cosy vibe.
This day trip was much needed and I felt like it had it all. With waterfalls, viewpoints, lakes, towns, and of course an abundance of mountains surrounding us; it was a day of variety and nature.
