Mountain State Of Mind
A shift in perspective- the mountain effect
There’s something magical about mountains that are often hard to describe.
What an incredible feat of nature mountains are, with their ancient and wise ranges like Mother Earth’s guardians.
It has only been in the past few years that I have found myself consistently surrounded by mountains.
When I lived in Queenstown and Jasper, the mountains were the first thing I saw in the morning and the last thing I saw at the end of the day. I know that I am so incredibly lucky to have experienced this.
Coming from big city London, this wasn’t ever something I experienced growing up.
I never wanted to take this for granted. I’d never seen such impressive mountain ranges before in my life, and suddenly they had become my daily view.
Living in such an environment was uplifting and grounding at the same time.
The energy was so pure, the air so fresh and the nature so raw.
Now that I live in a city close to the Rockies, I may not be amongst the mountains but I have the perfect view of them in the distance.
Every time I take a trip to the mountains I am reminded of how big our world is. I am also reminded of how our planet is but a unique rock, amongst a vast multiverse. That we are the microcosm, a reflection of the macrocosm.
It reminds me that we are so small, yet so much bigger than ourselves.
Immersing myself in the mountains always puts everything into perspective for me.
My mind is at ease, my problems drift away and the crisp fresh air reinvigorates my mind, body, and soul.
It’s incredible that nature has this effect on us and can create a feeling of inner and outer peace.
I never want to take this feeling for granted, because who knows where life will take me, maybe one day I will live far from the mountains and long for the days I lived so close.
But I will always treasure the times I spent so close to such incredible feats of nature.
