Notice, updates, progress

Hello there, my dear writers, and welcome to the Read or Die monthly newsletter!

Every month, I will publish an article in which I will communicate new changes, basic instructions for our writers, and the overall progress of our publication.

Here’s what this article will contain:

Table of Content

1] General Notice 2] Publication Progress

General Notice

A) Don’t forget to add the publication submission guidelines at the end of the drafts you submit

This is crucial to promoting our publication and attracting more members to our community. More members means more exposure for our pub, and we’ll all benefit from it.

To be clear, what I want you to link is this 👇

Not this 👇

Make sure to link the submission guidelines above any “thank you for reading” message, author bio, image, tag list, or suggested article list that you use at the end of your article.

We want it at the end of your draft so that it won’t draw attention from your reader until they have fully read your article. But at the same time, we want it in a position where it won’t be lost among the other “end of the article elements.

If you see a message like this, 👇

That means I’m editing your article or draft. By editing, all I mean is adding the publication guidelines, in case you forgot. That’s it.

This happens when both of us try to edit your draft at the same time. So either stop editing for a minute and let me add the publication guidelines at the end of your post/draft, or add the guidelines yourself.

B) Please be mindful and do not submit AI-generated articles

Since we are not picky and we accept all types of content, why not write whatever comes to mind? This is your chance to practice your writing among a community that will support you and accept you as you are.

Try not to write flat, Wikipedia-style articles, though.

In case you do, include some sources (links) at the end to prove you have researched the subject, and that’s how you got your knowledge. This is crucial to distinguishing your claimed hard work from AI copy-pasting.

It is best if you express your point of view or personal experiences related to the subject of your article, as much as that is possible.

I’m not into rejecting anyone’s submissions because we’re an inclusive publication. But if I see a suspect submission (partially AI-generated or full of flat, meaningless information without any purpose or personal take), I will reject it.

If I see that happening multiple times involving the same person, I will kick that writer out of the publication. I already kicked two or three people over this, so you should be careful.

Our publication is growing, and as we do that, it will benefit you in ways that you have yet to realize. Being our writer will bring you only benefits in the long term, so don’t mess that up.
