THE DAILY WRITE

Rainforest Queen

Poem of magical Hawaii.

The Daily Write prompt June 20th: What would you do if you had unlimited time and no restrictions?

If I could cross the boundaries of time eternal, And shrug away human limitations, Magic would lead me along the cinder paths To the fiery summit of Kilauea, home of Pelehonuamea.

In sparkling moonlight, I would hide among the ferns, Gazing from between the mottled shadows Of Ohia-lehua trees, branches over-hanging The edges of Creation.

In wonder and silence, I would wait for Our Rainforest Queen to rise from cratered home, Fierce and clothed in fire, her gowns flowing, Traveling ever downward to the sea.

There to bath her feet in oceans foam, Steam the crown circling Her brow, As she sheds her robes and dives into the deep, Rising again as new land.

Key Message: Hawaii is calling. Immerse yourself in its magic.
