If you got:

Mostly A you got SINGAPORE

Singapore is the perfect place for the city slicker! Great if you love sightseeing and walking tours; take in all the different cultures in the city’s unique areas.

You can easily get around on public transport and expect to work in high-end coworking spaces but be warned that the cost of living is high compared to the rest of southeast Asia. Not a place for a wild night out but one for a fancy night of cocktails with a city skyline view.

Mostly B you got CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai, for lovers of Thai food, sweet, cozy little cafes, and beautiful temples galore. If you like the right mix of city life and weekend adventures in the jungle, then Chiang Mai is for you.

One of the most famous places for digital nomads, there’s plenty of coworking spaces and friends to be made. It is known as a cheap option, particularly compared to other parts of Thailand. The city very walkable, and the nightlife is relaxed and low-key.

Mostly C you got CANGGU

Canggu, if you’re all about that beach life, then Canggu is for you! Think tropical beaches, yoga and meditation classes by day, and party time by night. It’s affordable but not the cheapest spot in South East Asia.

You’ll need a scooter to get around the island properly, which is pretty fun. The Indonesian food is lovely, and if you’re on a healthy kick, then there are smoothies and vegetarian options everywhere.

Conclusion

I have personally traveled to all three places, and I think I could honestly be happy in any of them. They all offer their unique highlights and distinct charm.

Of course, these aren’t the only options; there are so many beautiful places in southeast Asia to travel to and to live in. These are examples to think about what’s important to you in terms of cost of living, activities, food, and nightlife, to name a few.

If you would like to look at these places in more detail and have access to all sorts of metrics to compare locations, I highly recommend the Nomad List website.
